I find it weird, the homeowner and architect say the Council heritage listed the house some years back. However, I have not found it listed in the appropriate legislation as a heritage item. This will need further research. The architect claims to have had headaches submitting the documentation for an extension and second-storey addition. Ahh,  I found it! The house including its interiors is listed as a heritage item on Heritage map Sheet HER_ 001. In any case, after the passing of some time, a Development Approval was granted by the local council for ground and first-floor alterations and additions to a dwelling house.

My job as a New South Wales licensed building certifier was to approve the start of the building work via the issue of a Construction Certificate.  Well, they got underway with the construction mid-last year and I have conducted a number of what is called critical stage inspections. To date, the critical stage inspections were for the second-storey addition floor frame [a photograph is just below], steel reinforcement in the footings before the placement of concrete, and the placement of reinforcing steel to the slab before pouring to the concrete.
