Laminate Flooring

Laminate flooring is a multi-layer synthetic flooring product fused together with a lamination process that interlocks with each other. Laminate flooring simulates wood with a photographic applique layer under a clear protective layer. The inner core layer is usually composed of melamine resin and fibreboard materials. There are standards for the production of flooring. The flooring comes in set lengths, so boards that are stopped by a wall are cut to length. The offcut can be used in the following line of boards.

In the photo below the skirtings were placed after the floor. It’s now December 2021 and I just spent seven Saturdays helping my daughter lay some seven rooms of similar stuff in her house where the skirtings were existing. Since we left a 10 mm gap for movement, a bead was introduced to cover the gap.

Problems with laminate flooring can arise if it is used in the wrong areas, such as placed in the kitchen which can get wet, causing the underlying material to swell and split. It would be difficult to replace small sections of laminate flooring, basically, you have to replace an entire section.

Friends, in 2009 my chosen blog designer provided a game plan and a decent upfront fee. After expending AUD$, years go by so quickly, and a new blog designer disagrees thus I spent more AUD $ upfront in 2017.

Time rolls on and the blogs are judged wrong by the powerhouse. So be it, the story of my life! Simon says you must not piggyback an internet video.
