Friends, in 2009 my chosen blog designer provided a game plan and a decent upfront fee. After expending AUD$, years go by so quickly, and a new blog designer disagrees thus I spent more AUD $ upfront in 2017.

Time rolls on and the blogs are judged wrong by the powerhouse. So be it, the story of my life! Simon says you must not piggyback an internet video.

In the year 2008 Seth Marsh of Manzanita Construction discusses the construction techniques of straw bale homes. What a great example of an eco-friendly home!

Essentially a  post and beam structure  (not a stick frame) filled in with stacked bales (like legos)  and stucco on both sides.

Straw bales are a byproduct of the wheat industry &  have a high  R-value between 35-50. Using straw for buildings reduces air pollution and stores carbon. The straw left over from the building can be used as mulch so that, overall, there is minimal waste from using the material. Straw bales contain a high level of renewable material. Straw has a six-month growing cycle and is biodegradable. [image via google]
