Little Negative Impact

Friends, in 2009 my chosen blog designer provided a game plan and a decent upfront fee. After expending AUD$, years go by so quickly, and a new blog designer disagrees thus I spent more AUD $ upfront in 2017.

Time rolls on and the blogs are judged wrong by the powerhouse. So be it, the story of my life! Simon says you must not piggyback an internet video.

As a result, today 14 November 2022 I declare the video is deleted or perhaps the video was deleted previously from this blog post. The information, however, is current and there are so many comments so I will not delete the post.

Green homes, eco homes, what is an Eco-Friendly House? An Eco-friendly house is one designed to have as little negative impact on the environment as possible. While this sounds simple enough there is a huge range of different options available to you in order to create a green home built according to green and conservation standards. Also, different homeowners lie at different places along the scale.

Renewable Building Techniques

For some it has to be built from the ground up, using renewable building techniques and environmentally-friendly materials. They need to be insulated to within an inch of their lives, have rooftops and are powered entirely from renewable energy in the form of solar power, air-source heat pumps, wind turbines and the like. They have composting toilets and collect rainwater to bathe in, are triple-glazed and are designed to make the best use of the available natural light.

Impractical

For most people though, however interesting a concept this may be, it is a step further than is practical. Most people who care about the environment already own a home and rather than wanting to move completely into a bespoke, custom-designed and possibly even self-built home, they want to do their best to turn their existing property into energy-efficient comfortable living spaces. Fortunately, there are lots of things you can do right now and for very little money to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of your new or existing house without you having to give up on your home.
