Building Green Homes in Seal Rocks NSW
Eco-friendly
Friends, in 2009 my chosen blog designer provided a game plan and a decent upfront fee. After expending AUD$, years go by so quickly, and a new blog designer disagrees thus I spent more AUD $ upfront in 2017.
Time rolls on and the blogs are judged wrong by the powerhouse. So be it, the story of my life! Simon says you must not piggyback an internet video.
As a result, today 15 November 2022 I declare the video is deleted or perhaps the video was deleted previously from this blog post. The information, however, is current and there are so many comments so I will not delete the post.
Regardless of the subject of the blog is liked. Type ‘ Lighthome sustainable design; Design ambassador’s choice – Eco-friendly beach house; Kurreki House ‘ or a relevant Boolean term into ‘YouTube’ or your selected search engine to find the relevant information. Blog on and stay safe.
A beautiful sustainable Eco-friendly designed light home/courtyard home that uses a simple plan and palette of materials to create a modern beach house that’s perfectly in touch with its older neighbours. Design Ambassador Carolyn McFarland says there are two primary reasons she chose Kurreki House as her Design Ambassador’s Choice this month.
Courtyard House in Fire Zone
Firstly, it’s a courtyard house, and secondly, it’s in a fire zone and the home uses materials well to deal with that. McFarland loves the way Bourne Blue Architecture has also created a modern home that’s beautifully sympathetic to the old beach shacks that dot the surrounding community of Seal Rocks – typically fibre cement clad with timber battens. Kurreki House is a modern take on that and has used raw/unpainted fibre cement sheet with aluminium battens and Aussie blackbutt – all materials are non-combustible.
Courtyard Design
However, it’s the courtyard design that probably most captured McFarland’s attention. The design maximises light and ventilation. It is a holiday house, she acknowledges, so that frees up the design a bit but she admires the economical use of materials and the efficiency of the plan. “It’s just really nicely built and they’ve used economical materials in a well-put-together way,” she says. “You don’t need to use expensive materials to get a really good-looking house.” [image source google]
