Connect Into Old Sewer by Custom Home Builder

On a property in Burwood NSW Sydney Australia, a homeowner family had a problem.  The deep house sewer line was blocked and damaged we assume by the big gum eucalypt tree well-rooted above it.  Your friendly Custom Home Builder obtained video evidence of the blockage. The houseline traversed an adjoining property owner’s land and entered the public  225mm earthenware sewerage line which we are told is approximately  80  years old. The big gum eucalypt tree also was on the adjoining property owner’s land.

Both the adjoining property owners and local Municipal Council representatives unconditionally required the tree not to be cut down or damaged.

Your friendly Custom Home Builder was commissioned to relocate the new plastic house sewer line to the other side of the parcel of land.

Scope of Work:

Run the new  100mm plastic house sewer line from the house into the new 200mm plastic sewer line (which would automatically become Sewerage Authority property) down close and connect into the approximately  80  years old public  225mm earthenware sewerage line.

Obtain Engineers Report.

Liaise with Sewerage Authority.

Engage an experienced Specialist Plumber subcontractor to do the above by digging as required.

Reinstate and make good all disrupted landscaping and fencing.

We found the approximately  80  years old public  225mm earthenware sewerage line at depth of  3.7metres the work was completed within the day.

All in all, it was an expensive exercise but nonetheless very necessary.
