Consumer Building Guide NSW – Contract Contents- The work
In the building contract, there must be :
· An accurate description of the work to be carried out.
· plans and/or specifications for the work included together with a clause stating that all plans and specifications for work to be done under the contract (including any variations to those plans and specifications) are taken to form part of the contract.
· a contract price must be shown on the front page of the contract. If the price is not known or is subject to change, the front page must clearly state this, and provide a reason why (ie. such as in the case of a cost-plus contract).
· a clause that states that any agreement to vary the contract or any of the plans and/or specifications must be in writing and signed by you and the builder or tradesperson.
