Utilising Empty Containers

Friends, in 2009 my chosen blog designer provided a game plan and a decent upfront fee. After expending AUD$, years go by so quickly, and a new blog designer disagrees thus I spent more AUD $ upfront in 2017.

Time rolls on and the blogs are judged wrong by the powerhouse. So be it, the story of my life! Simon says you must not piggyback an internet video.

As a result, today 13 October 2022 I declare the video is deleted or perhaps the video was deleted previously from this blog post. The information however is current and there are so many comments so I will not delete the post.

The recent earthquakes in Haiti and Chile killed thousands of people and have left hundreds of thousands homeless. Today, poverty has left up to 3.5 million Americans in need of temporary housing. Haiti, Chile and the USA have 100000s  of empty ISO shipping containers sitting dormant.

Low Cost, Eco Friendly, Temporary Housing

My idea is to use local labour to convert one of these shipping containers into a safe, low-cost, eco-friendly home for temporary housing to those in need. ISO shipping containers are rugged, weatherproof, and plentiful. Local artisans and craftspeople will design and convert one of these shipping containers into a livable and safe home. Recycled Material

Because building materials are unavailable to the poor, the design and build will focus on using scrap and recycled materials. Also, all building techniques will be done in a manner that is easily replicable by individuals with little or no construction skills. The final product will be instructional videos for NGOs to build these homes locally, with local labour. [Below photo by author]
