When I was 16 years old my mum commissioned me to build a sideboard for my school woodworking project. That was 1977 and that sideboard earned me a 1st-grade award in my year.
My mum still treasures that sideboard and I suppose, 30 odd years later, it really is an antique!

That 1st-grade award was the beginning of my love affair with all things antique!!

I’ve always loved working with my hands and I’m good at it!!

When I restore the carpentry in an old Aussie house for a client, I don’t view it as just another job. The client is entrusting me with something of great value to them and so the task becomes an expression of my vision, mission and passion! And it’s this passion for restoration that really does produce works of art.

5 years ago a client removed the wallpaper from the wall of a room in her 100-year-old home and discovered it had originally been a ballroom.  As the wallpaper continued to come down, so the history of this old Aussie house unfolded…especially in the fancy fine carpentry that was uncovered. Together my client and I designed a Custom Home Builder strategy to resurrect the grandeur of that ballroom and indeed the rest of the house.
