Resource Depletion

Building materials use up enormous amounts of energy, water and other resources, whether they are metals, ceramics, glass, timber, plastics or fibres! Some of these resources are running low and so we are forced to use poorer reserves and cart them greater distances, using more energy. Depletion of the world’s scarce resources is a developing issue.

Recycle, reuse, re-claim. Recycling is the breaking down of used items to make raw materials for the manufacture of new products applying to glass, plastic, aluminium, brass, copper, lead, stainless steel and steel.  Re-use is the practice of using an item, for its original purpose or to fulfil a different function applying to e.g. building materials and furniture. Re-use is to bring an item into a condition for another use applying to e.g. building materials.
