Heritage Style Restoration in Haberfield 1

Federation Style construction of dwellings in Australia is circa 1900. Haberfield NSW Australia is labelled the Federation Style suburb. In 1916, Mr Richard Stanton, a developer of Haberfield and Roseberry, imported an entire timber bungalow from Pasadena Hills, Los Angeles, USA and assembled it in the Sydney suburb of Roseberry.
However, the subject house is a solid double brick Californian Bungalow built circa 1920 in Haberfield the so-called Federation Style suburb.

The whole of the external timber and panelling was painted white. The original external timberwork is made of clear Oregon and western red cedar from the USA. Well, the external colours were changed from white to as seen in the below photograph, somewhat favouring the original colours and you know they make the owner happy.  The leadlight panels on the door and sidelight are original! The coloured glass in the window sashes is new. The front porch tiles and step treads are original whereas the pathway tiles are a modern attempt.
