Green Home on a Hillside

Unbuildable

Friends, in 2009 my chosen blog designer provided a game plan and a decent upfront fee. After expending AUD$, years go by so quickly, and a new blog designer disagrees thus I spent more AUD $ upfront in 2017.

Time rolls on and the blogs are judged wrong by the powerhouse. So be it, the story of my life! Simon says you must not piggyback an internet video.

As a result, today 18 October 2022 I declare the video is deleted or perhaps the video was deleted previously from this blog post. The information however is current and there are so many comments so I will not delete the post.

Regardless the subject of the blog is liked. Type ‘ Kohler Sustainable Design – Built Green – Hillside Home ’ or a relevant Boolean term into ‘YouTube’ or your selected search engine to find the relevant information. Blog on and stay safe.

On a steep lot that was initially considered to be unbuildable, a dedicated team of design professionals produced the first LEED-certified Platinum home in Marin County, California. Nice trick. But how did they do it? www.us.kohler.com Like good magicians, the team took care to keep the backstage machinery well out of the spotlight.

Hidden Green Technology

As builder Michael McDonald says, “We try to make the sustainability aspect of it disappear.” That artfully hidden green technology includes in-floor hydronic heating, a solar array that provides 60% of the home’s electricity, LED lighting, cabinetry and floors made from sustainably harvested woods -even the roof is made of recycled metals. Take a revealing look behind the scenes at a home that stands at the very apex of sustainable design.
