Noise Attenuation of dwellings 3

When noise attenuating windows in dwellings and similar buildings the bigger the void between panels of glass the better the reverberation and noise attenuation within that space and less noise is transmitted through the inner glass and into the room. Step one change the existing old float or modern thin glass in the existing external window sashes to laminated glass. Additional window sashes with laminated glass should be fixed to the inside as per the photo below with stop beading. Gaps in relation to opening windows need self-adhesive bead treatment. All gaps should be sealed with a stick-on vinyl bead. I’ve done it and it works!
