Recently on 31/12/2021, I was commissioned by a family member to cut slots in the top of sample blocks of wood to enable a table number card with a menu to stand upright view for an upcoming wedding party. The slot had to be on the rounded edge of the block. On 1/1/2022 I made them. Admittedly, it involved some planning, safety management, and trial and error. Remember always work in a safe manner, and do not under any circumstance injure yourself. I have a scar on my bicep 30 mm by 100mm and happened so long ago that I do not remember how it happened. What I do know is I am bodybuilding and my bicep is deformed.

In any case, I selected scrap plywood, personal safety equipment, the smallest electric saw and other tools.  I then cut a saw slot in the plywood and then affixed the saw to it. I then decided on the depth the saw blade was to create i.e. 12 mm and screwed the upside-down saw to my workhorses. I then set about creating the fencing to receive the blocks of wood safely. Warning a person must always work safely. A test runs on a sample piece of wood indicated success and I proceeded to complete the project on five lengths of wood. Ohh I used a push stick because the blade guard was non-existent and I did not want to cut my fingers off. Remember, when using electric tools safety first! If you are not skilled with electric tools as I am,  you should buy the right tools or pay professionals. I have heard of too many accidents with injuries for life, such as two different cases of fingers cut off and someone that cut their hand off at the wrist.

Well, there you have it the finished product on a table. By the way, the wedding party was the best ever.
