World’s Water Cycle
Question: Where does our water come from?
Answer:
Sydney Water gives it to Sydney siders through Warragamba Dam and a desalination plant and a reservoir for a fee.
While we may say ‘the tap’ or name the nearest dam, the answer is really that it is all part of the world’s water cycle.
The natural water cycle
Water evaporates by the action of the sun from oceans, lakes and streams to provide moisture (humidity) in the air. Transpiration from growing plants and trees assist. The water collects in bigger droplets to become visible as clouds, which are moved by wind and heat, precipitating rain, hail or snow elsewhere.
Depending on the intensity, the water is absorbed into the ground to nourish growing matter and moves down to hard impervious rock (the ‘water table’). Sometimes it collects underground or seeps down into deeper strata as an aquifer, which is usually ancient and pure water. Surface run-off of water is minimised by vegetation, before collecting in creeks and streams and making its way back to the oceans. It’s a good example of a closed-loop eco-cycle.
Urban water cycle
The world’s natural water cycle is being constantly disrupted and polluted by human activity. As we cut down trees and vegetation we reduce the amount of moisture transpiring into the atmosphere. Smog over cities and urban areas reduces evaporation too, as does the warming caused by buildings and hard paving. The water that does runoff is usually contaminated by oils, petrol, lead dust and the like, plus rubbish washed into the stormwater. With greater run-off and often greater velocities-there is less infiltration and opportunity for the groundwater or deeper aquifer to recharge. What’s more, we pollute this water too readily from industrial processes, landfills, and the discharge of effluent into the ground by septic tanks. Such actions change natural weather patterns, affect soils, affect biodiversity, and contaminate clean water. [Image source google]

Greetings! Quick question that’s totally off topic.
Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly?
My web site looks weird when browsing from my iphone. I’m trying to find a theme or plugin that might be
able to fix this problem. If you have any recommendations, please share.
Thanks!

Heya this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if blogs
use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.
I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding know-how
so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
