In order to accommodate title 24, certified products are often used during construction like those that possess the EnergyStar seal amongst others, and John makes a note that one can only tell apart what is truly a legitimate third-party certification by being in the industry for a long time. He gives an example of one third-party certification that he considers greenwashing that all wood users should be aware of.

Greenwashing is disinformation disseminated by an organization so as to present an environmentally responsible public image.
